KYP Surprises Hillsboro Students with Personalized Gear
After five fun-filled Wednesdays introducing 4th and 5th graders to the game of pickleball, students in the Hillsboro Elementary After-School Program were surprised with a parting gift they won’t soon forget. Each student received a brand-new paddle from Matt Nola’s LUNAR Pickleball, personalized with their first name in metallic ink, along with a brand-new pickleball courtesy of CORE.
The room lit up with “oohs,” “ahhs,” and smiles as students took in the surprise. It was a joyful finale to weeks of learning the basics, building confidence, and connecting through play.
This special moment came together thanks to a generous community. Longtime pickleball advocate Janet Whisenhunt helped connect Kansas Youth Pickleball to Hillsboro Elementary, and KYP provided nets, coaching, and support throughout the program.
Big thanks to Matt, Janet, and all who believe in investing in young players!
